I live in West Texas. Yeah ok so some parts are desert like with cacti but we do have cities and water (OMG WATER!! XD) and various amounts of trees. I only say "Howdy" when I'm being silly or sometimes here on DA 
Only 3 people I've ever met have thick "Texas" accents. Those are hard to find down here in EP. We actually have more Mexican Americans than anything else really 
I'm Hispanic myself Though i don't know spanish. -_-'
Living in Texas and having a country accent, being a hillbilly type, carrying a gun around, saying howdy all the time, riding horses. Is mostly stereotyping in this day and age. Though i DO ride horses when I can ^_^ HORSIES!!! YAY!!!! XD
